"It is wonderful to feel the grandness of Canada in the raw, not because she is Canada.. she's got something sublime that you were born into, some great rugged power that you are part of."-Emily Carr

Vacation Experiences

Vacation Experiences are short getaways that we create that offer unique ways of experiencing the Riding Mountains. You'll find that they are well-paced, allowing you plenty of time for unique adventures as well as your own relaxation (dining out, Solstice Spa soak, sharing time with friends).

We also provide options to take part in unique learning adventures year-round that include:

Spring (May-June): Day adventures + Spa; spring birding into the national park and biosphere reserve.
Activities and experiences include: Walking Adventures; Guiding Birding Day Trips: Soundscapes.

Summer (July - August): Customized packages combining day outings with hotel or B&B stays (Summer is an extremely busy time of year requiring minimum number of nights because the Riding Mountain area is a major Manitoba resort and festival destination.)
Activities and experiences include: Walking Adventures; Photo Safaris; At the Water's Edge Kayak wildlife viewing.

Fall ((September - November): Through the fall transition period, we offer day outings to listen for bugling elk, rutting moose, wolves, and migrating geese. It's a very sensory season that also offers fall harvest foods, local menus, and uncrowded walking, hiking, or bicycling. Depending on the year, it might even include early snowshoeing by November.
Activities and experiences include: Walking Adventures; Photo Safaris; Fall night outings.

Winter (December - March): The Riding Mountains are a highland (350 metres higher than Winnipeg). Snows settle; it is a winter paradise for snowshoeing experiences. We combine daily snowshoeing with your stay at a local B&B or resort hotel/spa.
Activities and experiences include: Snowshoeing - Stories in the Snow; Photo Safaris; Winter Bird Outings.
