Town aims to inspire tourism push

It seems that a number of different rural communities across Canada are beginning to realize that the real magic in providing tourism in their communities lies in their backyards. I wonder if it is the current economic reality that is causing this "pause to reflect", or whether this is part of a global movement to discover more meaningful travel. I've been invited to speak to the Town of Morden on May 7th.  Morden was designated a cultural capital of Canada in 2008.  For a short video about Morden, take a look at this.

The Morden Times has published a short article about what they are hoping to achieve by having me as a guest speaker.  I look forward to being in Morden, known for among many things in Manitoba, as the home of the Morden Corn and Apple Festival, occuring this year from August 21 - 23, 2009.
